Knockdown rebuilds
01 Overview
Knockdown rebuilds
A knockdown rebuild keeps the block you already know and replaces the house that no longer suits how you live. Demolition, approvals and the new build are planned as one project, so the site is cleared with the finished home already in mind.
Every established block arrives with a brief of its own. Slope, easements, protected trees, heritage and conservation controls, and a streetscape your home will stand in for decades. We start there, working out exactly what the site will allow before a single line is drawn.
Then we bring your wish list to it. The rooms you have been imagining, the light, the flow, the way you want to live. A home that makes the most of the block and everything you wanted from it.
02 What is included
What the service covers
01
What the block allows
Slope, easements, protected trees, heritage and conservation controls, established before the design commits to anything.
02
The existing house assessed
What it would take to keep, and whether keeping it serves the home you actually want.
03
The streetscape considered
Your home will stand in this street for decades, and the design answers to that as much as to the brief.
04
Demolition coordinated
Cleared as part of the same programme as the rebuild, not handed between separate parties.
05
Consultants coordinated
Surveys, engineering, arborists and the reports your block requires, all commissioned on your behalf.
06
Your wish list brought to it
The rooms you have been imagining, the light and the flow, resolved against what the site will carry.
07
A fixed-price quote
Detailed and itemised, produced at preliminary agreement stage.
08
One point of contact
Through demolition, construction, handover and the maintenance visits after it.

03 Who this is for
The kind of project this suits
The street is right, the house is not
The suburb, the neighbours and the block work for you. What no longer works is the house standing on it.
A renovation will not go far enough
The structure, the layout or the levels make keeping the existing house a poor answer to what you want. A rebuild starts from the brief instead of working around a compromise.
You want one journey, not two
Demolition and the rebuild planned as one programme, with one builder responsible from the first conversation through to handover.

04 How we work
From the block to the keys
One team accountable for all of it, so there is no gap between the people who design your home and the people who build it.
01
The land
If you have not bought yet, we will look at blocks with you and tell you what each one will allow, what it will cost to build on and what it will do to your design. If you already have the block, we survey it properly before anyone draws a line.
02
The design
Our designers work with you to clarify what you want and turn it into measured drawings that can actually be built from, checked against what the council will allow. The design is also built as a 3D model you can walk through, so you experience the rooms before they exist.
03
The consultants
Surveyors, geotechnical engineers, structural and hydraulic engineers, private certifiers and council. We engage them, coordinate them, and keep them all working to the same set of drawings.
04
The build
From site preparation through to plasterboard, paint, flooring, joinery and appliances, with one point of contact and regular updates so you always know what is happening on your site.
05
The finishing
Landscaping, decking and pools are part of the build rather than someone else's job afterwards, and our interior designers furnish and set up the home with you: the beds made, the televisions programmed, the automation working. You move in and start living in it.
06
Afterwards
A walkthrough, an independent inspection and a final clean before you get the keys, then maintenance visits at four weeks, at ninety days and at twelve months.
Nobody should have to project-manage their own home while holding down a career.

06 Questions
The questions worth asking a builder
Demolishing the house you own and building a new one on the same block. You keep the street, the neighbours and the address, and you stop trying to make a house that does not suit you work harder than it can. Whether it makes more sense than renovating depends on the bones of what you have, and we will give you our honest read on that before you spend anything.
