Questions we are asked most
Answered as plainly as we can.
Design and decisions
This is the concern we hear most, and it is the reason the design stage takes as long as it does. We meet you on site with the designer, measure up, check what the council will allow, and then refine the concept plans until you are confident. Not until we are confident, until you are. Daniel has lived in seventeen homes, many of which he built himself, which tends to help in spotting a problem in a plan before it becomes a problem in a house.
Cost and budget
A rough guide on the first phone call, a more accurate one when we meet in person, and a detailed quote at a fixed price by the end of the preliminary building agreement, with the consultants, the selections and the site costs all accounted for. Every number before that one is a guide, and we will always tell you which is which.
Timing
It depends on the size of the home, the block and the council, so we will not put a number here that we cannot stand behind. What we will say is that we set the programme realistically rather than optimistically, and that the design and the approvals are finished before construction starts.
Working with us
A phone call. We ask about the land, the home you have in mind and what matters most to you, and we give you a rough guide to our costs and how we work. If it looks like we might suit each other, we meet in person. Nothing is charged until the concept design stage.
